Overview
Safari first, beach second. Your private safari covers Tarangire, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, with a possible stop at Olduvai Gorge. Then a short flight takes you to Zanzibar for five nights by the Indian Ocean, with time for a spice farm, a dhow cruise or Stone Town if you want them.

Day by day
Arrive in Tanzania
Your Ecolegacy Africa guide meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and takes you to your lodge or hotel to rest before the safari starts tomorrow.
Tarangire National Park
Drive to Tarangire for a day among its baobabs and elephant herds. In the dry season the river draws lion, zebra, wildebeest and giraffe in large numbers.
Into the Serengeti
From Karatu, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a possible stop at Olduvai Gorge, and into the Serengeti. Your first game drive is in the late afternoon.

Ngorongoro Crater
An early start to descend into the crater for a game drive, looking for black rhino, hippos, lion, zebra and flamingos. Late afternoon, climb out and continue to Karatu.
Fly to Zanzibar
A short flight to Zanzibar, where our team meets you and takes you to your beach resort.
Zanzibar at your own pace
Beaches, swimming and beachside dinners, with a spice farm tour, a dhow cruise or a walk through Stone Town if you want them.
Fly home, or add another island
A last swim before your transfer to Zanzibar International Airport. Or ask us about adding Pemba, Mnemba or Mafia.
