How Ecolegacy Africa collects, uses and protects the personal information you share with us.
Who we are
This website is run by Ecolegacy Africa Limited, a company registered in Tanzania (company no. 188991505), P.O. Box 6873, Morogoro, Tanzania. What we collect
When you contact us or send an enquiry, through our Plan My Trip, trip enquiry or contact forms, by email or by WhatsApp, we collect what you choose to send us: your name, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, country, travel dates, number of travellers, the kind of trip you would like, and any message.
When you book, we also need details to arrange your trip, such as the full names of travellers as shown in their passports, nationality, dates of birth, flight details, and any dietary, medical or accessibility needs you choose to tell us about so that we can look after you.
When you visit the website, our web host and website software record basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site working and secure.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a suggested itinerary and quote
- To book and run your trip: parks, lodges, flights, transfers and guides
- To keep in touch with you before and during your trip, including in an emergency
- To meet our legal, tax and licensing obligations as a tour operator in Tanzania
We only send you marketing messages, such as newsletters, if you have asked to receive them, and you can stop them at any time.
Who we share it with
We share your details only with the people who need them to deliver your trip: the national parks and conservation authorities, lodges and camps, airlines, transfer and boat operators, and our own guides. We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with immigration or tax authorities.
Our email, website and messaging services (including WhatsApp) store information on our behalf. We never sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to answer you and plan your trip, and booking records for as long as the law requires for accounting and tax purposes. After that we delete them, or keep them only in a form that no longer identifies you.
Keeping it safe
We limit access to your information to the members of our team who need it, and we use password-protected accounts for our email and booking records. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, unless we need to keep it by law. You can also ask us to stop sending you marketing messages. Email ecolegacy@ecolegacy-africa.com and we will reply within 24 hours and act on your request as soon as we can.
The law that applies
This policy is written with Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, in mind. Many of our guests live outside Tanzania, and their information is shared with our partners in Tanzania to deliver their trips.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date below shows when it last changed.
